Tip: When a computer gets hot, it also slows down drastically to the point where either system becomes unstable or powers off completely. This is the most common problem in laptop computers because a great amount of heat is produced and the ventilation system is very small. Situation gets worse because the smaller ventilation system is prone to get clogged easily and when it does, it simply means that computer is being choked. Initially this problem doesn’t seem obvious but leads to motherboard failures and at best really slow and hot computer, crashes, lag, etc. It is suggested that a compressed can of air be used once every 6 months to keep vents clear of dust and debris. In 1 year a laptop can easily get completely clogged up causing extremely high temperatures – at this point, a can of compressed air may not be sufficient and professional service may be required.
